Diese Internationale Norm legt zwei Verfahren der Hochspannungsprüfung fest: - Prüfung A zum Nachweis und Lokalisieren von Fehlstellen in Emails und Emaillierungen; - Prüfung B zum Nachweis und Lokalisieren sowohl von Fehlstellen als auch von Schwachstellen in Emails und Emaillierungen. Die Prüfungen werden mit gleichgerichteter Hochspannung (DC) oder gepulster DC-Hochspannung durchgeführt. Die Prüfungen gelten für trockene Emailoberflächen. Bei feuchten Oberflächen sollte darauf geachtet werden, dass die Prüfung zum vollständigen Nachweis von Fehlstellen korrekt vorgenommen wird. Da die Prüfspannung von der Dicke des Emailüberzugs abhängt, kann das Prüfverfahren, insbesondere bei Prüfung A, nicht für Prüfgegenstände geeignet sein, bei denen große Unterschiede der Überzugsdicken auftreten.
