Dieser Teil von ISO 2811 legt ein Verfahren zum Bestimmen der Dichte von Beschichtungsstoffen und ähnlichen Produkten mit einem Druckzylinder fest. Das Verfahren ist für Stoffe, die mit Luft durchsetzt sind, anwendbar. So enthalten z. B. Beschichtungsstoffe auf der Basis von Kunststoffdispersionen oftmals kleine Luftblasen, die auch beim Bestimmen der Dichte noch vorhanden sein können. Das Verfahren ist jedoch nicht geeignet für Beschichtungsstoffe mit groben Teilchen zum Herstellen von Beschichtungen mit strukturierter Oberfläche.
