Dieser Teil von ISO 28927 legt ein Laborverfahren zur Messung der Hand-Arm-Schwingungen fest, die an den Handgriffen von handgehaltenen motorbetriebenen Geradschleifern mit Spannzange (Schleifmaschinen für Schleifstifte, Stabschleifer) hervorgerufen werden. Es handelt sich um ein Messverfahren zur Ermittlung der Schwingungskennwerte (Schwingungsemissionswerte) an den Greifstellen der Maschine, die unter Typprüfbedingungen betrieben wird. Der Zweck besteht darin, dass die Kennwerte zum Vergleich verschiedener Modelle derselben Maschinenart verwendet werden. Dieser Teil von ISO 28927 gilt für handgehaltene Maschinen mit Spannzange (siehe Abschnitt 5), die pneumatisch oder auf andere Weise angetrieben werden und mit einem Frässtift aus Hartmetall oder einem Schleifstift zum Entgraten unterschiedlichen Materials dienen - von hartem Stahl bis Kunststoff. Er gilt auch für langsamlaufende Geradschleifer mit Spannzange für Lamellenschleifstifte oder zylindrische Schleifhülsen.
