Aluminiumoxidpulver werden durch Säuredruckaufschluss, Säureaufschluss oder Alkalischmelze aufgeschlossen. Die Gehalte von Calcium, Chrom, Kupfer, Eisen, Magnesium, Mangan, Kalium, Silicium, Natrium, Titan, Zink und Zirkonium in der Prüflösung werden mit einem Gerät für die optische Emissionsspektrometrie mit induktiv gekoppeltem Plasma (ICP-OES, en: inductively coupled plasma-optical emission spectrometry) bestimmt.
