Vanilla planifolia Andrews, im Handel unter verschiedenen Bezeichnungen bekannt, die mit der geographischen Herkunft verbunden sind, wie z. B. Bourbon, Indonesien und Mexiko; b) Vanilla tahitensis J. W. Moore; und c) verschiedene, aus Samen gewonnene Formen, möglicherweise Hybriden, von Vanilla fragrans (Salisbury) Ames. Sie gilt nicht für Vanilla pompona Schiede (Westindische oder Antillen-Vanille).
