Die Norm legt die sensitometrischen Eigenschaften des Film/Entwicklungssystems, die physikalischen Eigenschaften des Films und der Einzelfilmpackungen fest und beschreibt die Anforderungen an die Einzelfilmpackung und die Kennzeichnung. Diese Internationale Norm gilt für intraorale zahnärztliche Röntgenfilme zur manuellen oder automatischen Verarbeitung. Sie gilt nicht für Filme, die zur Belichtung durch Verstärkerfolien vorgesehen sind oder für Filme, die vorrangig für die Auflicht-Betrachtung bestimmt sind.
