Dieses Dokument legt die Eigenschaften von niedrigen Sechskantmuttern (Typ 0) aus Stahl und nichtrostendem Stahl mit metrischen Regelgewinden M1,6 bis M64 und mit Produktklassen A und B fest. Niedrige Muttern, die als Kontermuttern eingesetzt werden, sind zusammen mit einer normalen oder hohen Mutter zu montieren. Falls in bestimmten Fällen andere Festlegungen benötigt werden, können Stahlsorten nichtrostender Stähle und Festigkeitsklassen aus ISO 3506-2 entnommen werden.
