Dieses Dokument legt eine Nomenklatur fest für: - Schweißen, - Hartlöten, Weichlöten und Fugenlöten, - thermisches Schneiden, wobei jedes Verfahren durch eine Ordnungsnummer gekennzeichnet ist. Es umfasst die Hauptprozesse (einstellig), Gruppen (zweistellig) und Untergruppen (dreistellig). Die Ordnungsnummern für jeden Prozess sind höchstens dreistellig. Dieses System ist als Hilfsmittel für die Computerisierung und die Erstellung von z. B. Zeichnungen, Arbeitspapieren und Schweißanweisungen gedacht und ermöglicht eine einheitliche internationale Bezeichnung der Prozesse. Dieses Dokument deckt nicht alle Prozessvarianten ab. Für nicht aufgeführte Varianten können die Ordnungsnummern mit zusätzlichen Informationen ergänzt werden.
