Diese Norm beschreibt das Verfahren, das anzuwenden ist, um Proben von ungekühlten Flüssiggasen (LPG) zu erhalten. Sie ist anwendbar auf die Entnahme von Proben aus Transportbehältern und die Bereitstellung von Proben für Laboruntersuchungen von Produkten, die den Anforderungen von ISO 9162 genügen. Diese Norm ist auch zur Entnahme von Proben zur Ermittlung der Zusammensetzung nach ISO 7941 anwendbar. Sie ist nicht anwendbar zur Entnahme von Proben zur Spurenanalyse niedrig siedender Komponenten. Wenn eine Spurenanalyse niedrig siedender Komponenten erforderlich ist, ist ein Probenahmegefäß mit variablem Volumen zu benutzen, wie es in ASTM D 3700 beschrieben wird.
