Dieser Teil der ISO 4404 legt ein Verfahren fest zur Bestimmung der korrosionshemmenden Eigenschaften von wasserhaltigen Druckflüssigkeiten der Klassen HFA, HFB und HFC, die in ISO 6743-4 klassifiziert sind. Das Prüfverfahren ermöglicht die qualitative Beurteilung der korrosionsverhindernden Eigenschaften dieser Flüssigkeiten gegenüber in der Konstruktion von Hydraulikanlagen und Anlagenkonstruktionen eingesetzten Metalle. Ein ähnliches Prüfverfahren für Flüssigkeiten der Klasse HFD ist in ISO 4404-2 beschrieben.
