Anmerkung: ISO 7231 "Weichelastische Schaumstoffe - Verfahren zur Bestimmung des Luftstromes bei konstanten Druckabfall" beschreibt ein einfaches Qualitätskontrollverfahren, das ebenfalls auf der Strömung der Luft durch Schaumstoffe basiert. Dieses Verfahren bietet sich an, wenn nicht die eigentlichen Eigenschaften der verschiedenen Materialien zu Vergleichszwecken berechnet werden sollen, sondern wenn nur die Qualität eines bestimmten Schaumstoffes bestimmt werden soll.
