Diese Norm legt ein gravimetrisches Verfahren zur Bestimmung des Schwefelgehaltes in Stählen und Eisen fest, mit Ausnahme von selenhaltigen Stählen. Das Verfahren ist besonders als Referenz-verfahren für die Normierung von Proben geeignet, für die zertifizierte Normwerte einzuführen sind. Dieses Verfahren ist für Schwefelanteile im Bereich von 0,003 Masse-% bis 0,35 Masse-% anzuwenden.
