Dieser Teil der ISO 5263 legt ein Gerät und ein Verfahren zum Nassaufschlagen von Chemiezellstoffen im Labor fest. Das Gerät und das Verfahren werden auch in mehreren anderen Internationalen Normen zum Thema Faserstoffe zur Probenvorbereitung verwendet. Grundsätzlich ist das Verfahren für alle Chemiezellstoffarten anwendbar 150; einschließlich Sekundärfaserstoffe. Es ist nicht geeignet für Holzstoffe, Halbzellstoffe, chemischen Holzschliff sowie einige sehr langfaserige Zellstoffe wie solche aus Baumwolle und ähnlichen Materialien.
