Diese Internationale Norm beschreibt ein Verfahren zur Bestimmung von Chrom in einer aus Leder erhaltenen wässrigen Lösung und ist eine weiterentwickelte Version des bestehenden IULTCS-Verfahrens IUC 8. Die Norm beschreibt die Bestimmung von Chrom durch kolorimetrische Geräte und ist vorgesehen für mit Chrom gegerbte Leder, bei denen Chromoxidgehalte von mehr als 0,05 % vermutet werden. Es werden zwei unterschiedliche Verfahren als Alternative zum Erhalt von Chrom in einer geeigneten Lösung beschrieben. Es ist angebracht, beide Verfahren anzuwenden. Im vorliegenden Fall handelt es sich um eine Analyse des Gesamtchromgehaltes in Leder, die nicht verbindungsspezifisch oder spezifisch für die Oxidationsstufe ist.
