In dieser ÖNORM werden die Grundregeln für die Entwicklung der Zentralprojektion und deren Anwendung in techischen Zeichnungen festgelegt. Die Zentralprojektion (perspektivisch) ist eine realistische bildliche Darstellung, die bei der Projizierung des darzustellenden Gegenstandes von einem Punkt mit endlichem Abstand (Projektionszentrum) auf eine einzelne Projektionsebene (im Regelfall die Zeichenfläche) entsteht. Diese Art der Zentralprojektion ergibt das beste Erscheinungsbild des Gegenstandes (monolulare Betrachtung) und wird häufig auf dem Gebiet der Architektur angewendet.
