Diese Internationale Norm legt ein Verfahren zur Bestimmung von gelöstem Calcium und Magnesium mittels Flammenatomabsorptionsspektrometrie fest. Das Verfahren ist zur Analyse von Roh- und Trinkwasser geeignet und kann für Wässer angewendet werden, die einen Calciumgehalt bis 50 mg/l und einen Magnesiumgehalt bis 5 mg/l haben. Bei Proben mit höheren Calcium- und Magnesiumkonzentrationen muß für die Analyse ein geringeres Probenvolumen entnommen werden. Wird eine Luft-Acethylen-Flamme und der Verdünnungsfaktor 1 zu 10 wie in 6.1 beschrieben, angewendet, ist der Arbeitsbereich für Calcium 3 mg/l bis 50 mg/l und für Magnesium 0,9 mg/l bis 5 mg/l.
