Dieses Dokument legt Verfahren für das Entfernen von Korrosionsprodukten fest, die sich während der Auslagerung von Korrosionsprüfkörpern aus Metallen und Legierungen in korrosiven Umgebungen gebildet haben. In diesem Dokument bezieht sich der Begriff "Metalle" auf reine Metalle und Legierungen. Die aufgeführten Verfahren wurden entwickelt, um alle Korrosionsprodukte zu entfernen, ohne das Grundmetall signifikant zu entfernen. Dadurch ist eine genaue Bestimmung des Massenverlustes des Metalls möglich, der während der Auslagerung in korrosiver Umgebung stattfindet.
