Diese Internationale Norm legt ein Verfahren für den Ringaufdornversuch an Rohren fest, der angewendet wird, um Fehler sowohl an der Oberfläche als auch innerhalb der Rohrwand zu erkennen, indem der Probekörper unter Verwendung eines konischen Dorns so weit aufgeweitet wird, bis er zu Bruch geht. Die Prüfung darf auch zur Bewertung der plastischen Verformbarkeit von Rohren verwendet werden. Der Ringaufdornversuch gilt für Rohre, die einen Außendurchmesser von 18 mm bis einschließlich 150 mm und Wanddicken von 2 mm bis einschließlich 16 mm haben.
