Diese Internationale Norm legt Anforderungen in Ergänzung zu ISO 15550 fest, um die Vortriebsleistung in Wasser von Hubkolben-Verbrennungsmotoren (RIC) zu bestimmen die zur Dokumentation vorgestellt werden und um die vom Hersteller angegebene Leistung zu überprüfen. Diese Internationale Norm gilt für Motoren, die zum Antrieb von Freizeitfahrzeugen und anderen kleinen Wasserfahrzeugen mit einer Rumpflänge bis 24 m eingesetzt werden. Diese Internationale Norm muss in Verbindung mit der Basisnorm ISO 15550 angewandt werden.
