Niedrige Muttern, die als Kontermuttern verwendet werden, müssen gemeinsam mit einer normalen Mutter oder einer hohen Mutter montiert werden. Falls in bestimmten Fällen andere Festlegungen benötigt werden, können nichtrostende Stahlsorten und Festigkeitsklassen aus ISO 3506-2 gewählt werden.
