Es stellt auch die Verwendbarkeit und Zugänglichkeit für alle Dolmetscher einschließlich jenen mit besonderen Bedürfnissen sicher. Es ist anwendbar für alle Arten von ortsfesten Kabinen, in denen eingebaute oder transportable Ausstattungen zum Einsatz kommen. In Verbindung mit entweder diesem Dokument oder ISO 4043, legen ISO 20108 und ISO 20109 die maßgeblichen Anforderungen sowohl für die Qualität und die Übertragung von Ton und Bild an die Dolmetscher als auch für die in den Kabinen benötigte Ausstattung fest.
