Diese Internationale Norm legt graphische Symbole für zahnärztliche Ausrüstungen fest. Es ist vorgesehen, dass die Symbole auf den entsprechenden Gegenständen der zahnärztlichen Ausrüstung und in Dokumenten, die sich auf die zahnärztliche Ausrüstungen beziehen, verwendet werden, z. B. Gebrauchsanweisung, Kennzeichnung, Etikett und technische Produktdokumentation. Die Symbole wurden speziell für alle Arten der zahnärztlichen Ausrüstung entwickelt.
