Diese Internationale Norm spezifiziert Konstruktion, Leistung, Typenprüfung und Inspektion für bordtaugliche Schiffsfaksimileempfänger zum Empfang von Wetterkarten , die durch Faksimileübertragung meteorologischer Karten Richtung Radionetz" gesendet werden; nach Maßgabe der Empfehlung Nr 343-1 des International Radio Consulative Committee (CCIR) und Dokument Nr. 386, Teil 111-7 nach den Festlegungen der World Meteorological Organisation (WMO). Diese Internationale Norm gilt für schiffsgeeignete Radiofaksimileempfänger zur Aufnahme von Wetterkarten und anderen graphischen Darstellungen meteorologischer Verhältnisse, die als Navigationshilfe auf See dienen sollen.
