Der vorliegende Teil der ISO 9974 legt Maße für Einschraublöcher mit Gewinde nach ISO 261 und Elastomerdichtung (Form E) oder metallischer Dichtkante (Form B) für allgemeine Anwendung und für Fluidtechnik fest. Dabei sind die Einschraubzapfen in ISO 9974-2 und ISO 9974-3 festgelegt. Dieser Teil legt auch Prüfmethoden und die Bezeichnung dieser Einschraublöcher fest. Einschraublöcher nach diesem Teil der ISO 9974 dürfen bei Arbeitsdrücken bis 63 MPa (630 bar) verwendet werden. Der zulässige Arbeitsdruck ist abhängig von der Größe des Einschraubloches, dem Werkstoff, der Konstruktion, den Betriebsbedingungen und dem Anwendungsfall.
