Diese Internationale Norm gilt für Snowboard-Schnallenbindungen für Erwachsene und Kinder, umfasst aber auch Schnallenbindungen für Softboots, die eine Einsteige-Funktion aufweisen. Diese Internationale Norm gilt nicht für Antirutschbeläge. Für Snowboard-Plattenbindungen ohne Auslösemechanismus gelten die Anforderungen gemäß ISO 14790. Für den Bindungsbefestigungsbereich von Snowboards ohne Inserts gelten die Anforderungen gemäß ISO 10958-1 und mit Inserts gemäß ISO 10958-2.
