Dieser Teil der ISO 14635 gibt ein Prüfverfahren an, das auf einer FZG )-Zahnrad-Verspannungs-Prüfmaschine zur Ermittlung der relativen Fresstragfähigkeit von Schmierölen mit hohen EP-Werte beruht, definiert durch den als Fressen bekannten Zahnflankenschaden. Dieses Prüfverfahren ist für das Beurteilen der Fressbelastbarkeit von Schmierölen brauchbar, die typisch bei hochbeanspruchten Zylinderradgetrieben in vielen Fahrzeugen und stationären Verwendungen angetroffen werden. Es ist nicht geeignet zum Feststellen des Fressbelastbarkeitsvermögens von Schmierölen, die in hochbelasteten Hypoidgetrieben (Kegelradgetriebe mit Achsversetzung) verwendet werden. Für diese Feststellungen stehen der Industrie andere Methoden zur Verfügung. ANMERKUNG:Dieses Verfahren ist technisch gleichwertig mit CEC L-84-02.
