Dieser Teil von ISO 14635 gibt ein Prüfverfahren an, das auf einer FZG )-Zahnrad-Verspannungsprüfmaschine zur Ermittlung der relativen Fresstragfähigkeit von halbflüssigen Schmierfetten (Fließfetten) beruht, und durch den als Fressen bekannten Zahnflankenschaden definiert ist. Dieses Verfahren ist für die Beurteilung des Fresstragfähigkeits-Vermögens halbflüssiger Zahnradschmierfette (Fließfette) der NLGI-Klassen 0 bis 000 geeignet, wie sie typisch bei hochbeanspruchten Verzahnungen in geschlossenen Zahnradgetrieben eingesetzt werden. Es kann nur auf Schmierfette angewendet werden, die einen ausreichenden Schmierstofffluss im Gehäuse der FZG-Prüfmaschine erbringen.
