Der Anwendungsbereich dieser Norm beinhaltet Anforderungen und Prüfungen an mechanische Verbindungen für Kunststoff-Rohrleitungssysteme, sowie Übergangsverbindungen zu Metallrohren für die folgenden Anwendungsbereiche: - Transport von Trinkwasser für den menschlichen Gebrauch einschließlich des aufbereiteten Rohwassers, für Entwässerungs- und Abwasserdruckleitungen sowie den Transport von Brauchwasser, - Transport von Wasser für Bewässerungssysteme, - Industrieanwendungen. Diese Norm gilt ausschließlich für mechanische Verbindungen bei Betriebstemperaturen und Betriebsdrücken, welche in den zutreffenden Systemnormen angeführt werden. (siehe Annex A der ISO 17885) Die Gütesicherung der mechanischen Verbinder ist in einem nationalen Anhang geregelt.
