Diese Norm legt ein Verfahren zur Bestimmung des Dehnungsverfestigungs-Moduls fest, der als Maß für den Widerstand gegen langsames Risswachstum von Polyethylen verwendet wird. Der Dehnungsverfestigungs-Modul wird aus Spannungs-Dehnungskurven aus Probekörpern von gepressten Platten erhalten. Diese Norm beschreibt, wie eine solche Messung durchgeführt wird und der Dehnungsverfestigungs-Modul aus einer solchen Kurve bestimmt wird. Anforderungen über die erforderliche Ausrüstung, Toleranzen und Probenaufbereitung für die Erzeugung von verwendbaren Daten werden angegeben. Diese Norm bietet eine Methode für alle Arten von Polyethylen, unabhängig von Fertigungstechnik, Comonomer und Katalysatortyp die für Rohre und Formteile verwendet werden.
