Diese Norm legt Hauptmaße und Toleranzen für gegossene und gepresste Gehäuse für Spannlager fest, die die Hauptmaße nach ISO 9628 festgelegt sind. Die Norm gilt für Stehlagergehäuse, Flanschlagergehäuse und Stellgehäuse. Die Einbindung von Nachschmiereinrichtungen ist optional, wenn diese angewendet werden, dann stimmen sie mit den in ISO 9628 angegebenen Zonen überein, damit Schmierstoff zufriedenstellend aus dem Gehäuse durch diese Zonen fließen kann. Die genauen Konstruktionsdetails werden aber andererseits nicht in dieser Norm ausgeführt.
