Táto norma špecifikuje skúšobné metódy na skúšanie vlastností zalomenia pre katétre s jedným lúmenom a zdravotnícke hadice určené pre klinické použitie, keď sú ohnuté v jednej rovine. Pripúšťa sa, že iné sily, ako napr. krútenie, budú ovplyvňovať správanie sa produktu, ale doteraz neexistujú žiadne štandardné skúšobné metódy. Takysto sa pripúšťa, že takéto hadice možno použiť na transport tekutín alebo plynov. Avšak voda sa používa ako štandardné skúšobné médium, keďže účelom tejto normy je zabezpečiť jednotnosť pri vyhodnocovaní vlastností zalomenia hadíc.
