Táto európska norma stanovuje požiadavky a skúšobné metódy na penotvorné roztoky na zisťovanie úniku plynu (ďalej nazývané roztoky na zisťovanie úniku) používané na zisťovanie úniku vykurovacieho plynu prvej triedy (tzv. svietiplynu), druhej triedy (zemného plynu) a tretej triedy (skvapalneného ropného plynu - LPG) (pozri EN 437) v rozsahu teploty od -15 °C alebo od 0 °C do 50 °C.
