Táto európska norma špecifikuje požiadavky na ochranné opatrenia proti účinkom blúdivých prúdov, ktoré vznikajú pri prevádzke trakčných sietí jednosmerného prúdu.Pretože praktické skúsenosti v priebehu niekoľkých desaťročí nepreukázali evidentné korozívne vplyvy spôsobené trakčnými sieťami striedavého prúdu a súčasné skúmania sa ešte neskončili, táto európska norma sa zaoberá iba blúdivými prúdmi tečúcimi z trakčnej siete jednosmerného prúdu.
