Táto európska norma uvádza požiadavky a metódy skúšok na konštrukciu a činnosť požiarnych nástenných hydrantov s plochou hadicou na inštaláciu v budovách, ktoré sú trvanlivo pripojené na rozvod vody a ktoré sú určené na používanie obyvateľmi. Okrem toho požiadavky platia aj na preukazovanie zhody a označovanie týchto výrobkov. Požiadavky môžu platiť všeobecne na iné použitia, napríklad v námorníctve alebo v agresívnych prostrediach, ale v takých prípadoch môžu byť nevyhnutné dodatočné požiadavky.
