Táto norma neplatí na predlžovacie šnúrové prívody s prostriedkami na navíjanie.Táto norma platí aj na predlžovacie šnúrové prívody, ktoré sú určené na použitie v navíjacom káblovom predlžovacom prívode, a ktoré sa môžu stať navíjacími káblovými predlžovacími prívodmi s oddeliteľným ohybným káblom.Pri kombinovaných predlžovacích šnúrových prívodoch tieto musia navyše spĺňať požiadavky a skúšky pre navíjacie káblové predlžovacie prívody podľa IEC 61242.Predlžovacie šnúrové prívody sú vhodné na používanie pri okolitých teplotách zvyčajne nepresahujúcich +40 °C, ale ak ich priemerná teplota počas 24 h nepresiahne +35 °C, s dolnou hranicou teploty okolitého vzduchu -5 °C.
