Tato mezinarodni norma urcuje fotometrickou metodu pro stanoveni manganu v hliniku a ve slitinach hliniku. Metoda je pouzitelna pro stanoveni manganu od 0,005 || do 1,5 ||. Metoda neni jako celek pouzitelna v nasledujicich specialnich pripadech: a) slitiny s obsahem kremiku vyssim nez 10 || a s obsahem namganu nizsim nez 0,1 || (viz. priloha A); b) slitiny hliniku obsahujici cin, antimon, bismut, zirkonium atd. (V teto mezinarodni norme nejsou tyto specialni pripady zpracovany) .
