Das ERRI-Modell 2004 zur Umrechnung des l-Wertes in Momentanverzögerungen bedurfte der Überarbeitung. In den Jahren 2003 und 2004 fanden verschiedene Bremsversuche statt, die der Weiterentwicklung und der Verifizierung des Bremsmodells sowie der ETCS-Bremskurven dienten.
Schließlich wurde das Umrechnungsmodell zum "UIC General Braking Model for ERTMS/ETCS" geschaffen. Die Schritte und die Randbedingungen der Entwicklung werden beschrieben, ebenso die Verifizierung des Modells.
