The UIC Project P496 was launched in 2018 with the aim of updating the UIC Leaflet 421 to:

  • . improve and harmonise cross-border traffic for a more profitable freight business,
  • . valorise the UIC Software TrainDy for the calculation and the validation of the extended freight train configuration.

This technical report is the collection of the interim document delivered during the project and which have been the base of the new IRS 40421 and new modules of UIC TrainDy Software.
