1. Scope

This method is for determining the mean length (L) and diameter (D) of fresh extruded catalyst and extruded catalyst supports. Catalysts of various diameters and lengths can be measured. The mean length and diameter can be reported in either inches or millimeters. The data can also be reported as the ratio of length over diameter, L/D. Fines, if present, are disregarded.
