Norma stanoví toleranční pole pro hladké součásti v uloženích a pro součásti z plastů, které nejsou určeny k uložení, se jmenovitými rozměry od 1 do 500 mm. Norma neplatí pro zvláštní případy rozměrů (závity, ozubení apod.), úchylky tvaru a polohy, zaoblení a úchylky úhlů. Informační příloha 1 obsahuje doporučení pro tvorbu uložení z tolerančních polí hřídelů a děr podle této normy. Informační příloha 2 obsahuje technologické doporučení k používání této normy. Stanoví názvosloví, definice a hodnoty technologických tolerancí a metody výpočtu činných rozměrů tvářecích částí forem na výrobu součástí z plastů
