Touto osmnáctou částí normy se zavádí ST SEV 4711-84 Výrobky z ovoce a zeleniny. Metoda stanovení obsahu cukrů podle Luff-Schoorla, jako ČSN, jíž se pro potřeby ČSSR (ČSFR) popř. ČR norma RVHP nedoplňovala. Norma RVHP určuje metodu stanovení obsahu redukujících cukrů, veškerých cukrů a sacharózy. Podstata normalizované metody a postup při provádění normalizované zkoušky je (podrobně) popsán. Norma tedy stanovuje postupy pro provádění některých zkoušek (metod) zjišťování a/nebo ověřování znaků jakosti, důležitých z hlediska hygieny výživy. ČSN 56 0246-18 byla schválena 28.3.1985 a nabyla účinnosti od 1.1.1986. Nahradila čl. 49 až 52 ČSN 56 0246 z 30.9.1964
