Norma stanovuje požadavky na výrobu, pokládku a kontrolu konstrukčních vrstev vozovek pozemních komunikací a jiných dopravních ploch prováděných technologií asfaltocementových betonů. Asfaltocementový beton je vrstva vzniklá z asfaltem obaleného kameniva (kostry) s vysokou mezerovitostí po prolití nebo zavibrování výplňové malty. Asfaltocementový beton je velmi odolný proti tvorbě trvalých deformací a proto je vhodný pro pomalou a zastavující dopravu, například pro autobusové zastávky, manipulační plochy, letiště, sklady a průmyslové provozy.
