Tato evropská norma se vztahuje na závitová spojení užívaná pro spojení mezi ventilem tlakové láhve na plyn a redukčním ventilem pro dýchací přístroj pro potápění obsahující dýchatelný plyn Nitrox s kyslíkem o koncentraci větší než 22 % nebo kyslíkem. Je dohodnuto, že se během pětiletého přechodného období bude postupně zavádět používání závitu popsaného touto normou, neboť je v současné době používáno více typů závitů.
