Tato norma specifikuje metodu stanovení 15 vybraných PAU vysokoúčinnou kapalinovou chromatografií (HPLC) s fluorescenční detekcí po extrakci kapalina-kapalina, vhodnou ke stanovení v pitných a podzemních vodách v hmotnostních koncentracích jednotlivých sloučenin od 0,005 ug/l, a v povrchových vodách v hmotnostních koncentracích nad 0,01 ug/l. Tato metoda je v určité obměně vhodná také k analýze odpadních vod. Metodu lze použít i pro jiné PAU za předpokladu její validace pro danou sloučeninu.
