V1.1.1 Tato norma se vztahuje na rádiová zařízení určená k používání radioamatéry ve smyslu Radiokomunikačního řádu Mezinárodní telekomunikační unie (ITU), Článek 1, definice 53, která jsou obchodně dostupná. Dále je tato norma určena k pokrytí ustanovení Směrnice 1999/5/ES [1] (Směrnice R&TTE), která stanoví že"...rádiová zařízení musí být konstruována tak, aby efektivně využívala spektrum přidělené zemským/kosmickým radiokomunikacím a technické prostředky umístěné na oběžné dráze, aby se zabránilo škodlivé interferenci".
