Norma obsahuje ISO 1008:1992. Stanoví jmenovité rozměry a požadované rozměry včetně tolerancí při řezání černobílých a barevných fotografických papírů v listech (pro negativní nebo inverzní zpracování) pro obrazovou fotografii. Tato norma dále obsahuje metodu ke kontrole pravoúhlosti listů a rovnosti jejich okrajů a dále stanoví pravidla pro označování obalů. Termín pro "obrazovou fotografii" znamená, že papír je určen pro účely amatérské, obchodní a portrétní fotografie s výjimkou speciálního použití, například při dokumentární reprodukci, při fotokompozici nebo pro grafické účely. V normě se používají přednostně metrické jednotky. ČSN ISO 1008 (66 6517) byla vydána v prosinci 1996. Nahradila spolu s ČSN ISO 1009 z června 1994 ČSN 66 6517 z 28.3.1985
