Tato norma specifikuje metodu pro stanovení obsahu soli v másle. Metoda je vhodná pro všechny druhy másel, které obsahují více než 0,1 % soli (vyjádřeno jako hmotnostní zlomek v procentech). Podstatou metody je rozpuštění zkušebního dílu másla přidáním vroucí vody. Chloridy rozpuštěné ve směsi se titrují roztokem dusičnanu stříbrného za použití chromanu draselného jako indikátoru do oranžového zbarvení (Mohrova metoda).
