Tato mezinárodní norma specifikuje kinetickou metodu s přímým kontaktem pro stanovení inhibičního účinku vzorků suspenzí sedimentů a dalších pevných látek, a také pro problematické zakalené nebo zbarvené vodné vzorky na světelnou emisi mořských bakterií Vibrio fischeri.
Tato metoda je použitelná pro:
- a) vzorky sedimentů a vodné suspenze sedimentů (ze sladkých, brakických a slaných vod);
- b) odpadní vody (zejména zakalené a zbarvené);
- c) vodné extrakty (např. výluhy, eluáty) půd, pevného odpadu a dalších pevných materiálů (zejména zakalené a zbarvené)
