Tato norma specifikuje metodu stanovení lineárních izomerů perfluoroktansulfonátu (PFOS) a perfluoroktanoátu (PFOA) v nefiltrovaných vzorcích pitné, podzemní a povrchové vody (sladká a mořská voda) s použitím vysokoúčinné kapalinové chromatografie/tandemové hmotnostní spektrometrie (HPLC-MS/MS). Další izomery mohou být uvedeny samostatně jako nelineární izomery a stanoveny jako takové. Metoda je použitelná pro koncentrační rozsah 2,0 ng/l až 10 000 ng/l PFOS a 10 ng/l až 10 000 ng/l PFOA. V závislosti na matrici může být tato metoda použitelná také pro vyšší koncentrace od 100 ng/l do 200 000 ng/l po vhodném zředění vzorku nebo zmenšení jeho velikosti
