Norma platí pro oxid hlinitý používaný především pro výrobu hliníku a určuje metody přípravy roztoku vzorku rozkladem tavením nebo kyselinami pod tlakem. V této normě jsou zapracovány údaje z ISO 804:1976 a ISO 2073:1976. Údaje souhlasné s oběma mezinárodními normami jsou po straně označeny svislou čarou. Při provádění rozboru musí být dodržena veškerá ustanovení podle ČSN 65 1041. ČSN 65 1052 byla schválena 25.4.1991 a nabyla účinnosti od 1.2.1992. Nahradila ČSN 65 1052 ze 4.5.1981
